A premium finance agency is an individual or entity engaged, in whole or in part, in the business of entering into premium finance agreements with insured, including a bank if so engaged. No person except a lending institution or an authorized insurer shall engage in the business of a premium finance agency without first obtaining a license from the Superintendent. For licensing requirements see Article 12-B of the Banking Law, sections 554 to 578 and Superintendent's Regulation Parts 405 and 300. |
